My Little Manok

First, he won't eat anything but chicken and egg (manok pa rin yun. )

Today, he insists he is a chicken.
He won't eat anything but popcorn
(coz I told him chicken eats corn).
And he insists on eating it like a chicken.

Good thing that mat is clean.

He can be chicken for a day.

Rash

The days here have been crazy hot and now, one of the boys has the worst diaper rash ever. It's so bad, he screams when we wash him. For obvious reasons, I couldn't post a picture. Previously, everytime the boys have rashes in those regions, we use the Triple Paste Medicated Ointment that my aunt from NYC sent us.She sent us two of these.

The active ingredient is of course ZINC OXIDE.
But it has all the other stuff that makes it work Super Fast.

It has Money Back Guarantee.

But we've ran out, when we're experiencing the worst diaper rash ever.
So, we use our "alternate", the one actually prescribed by their pediatrician.

So cheap at P99.00.
It's purely ZINC OXIDE.
It's proudly Philippine made.

Unfortunately, it does not work fast enough for me.  I want instant gratification for my baby. I called upon my friends from Facebook and got three suggestions.

Mommy Ira uses this on her twins.
Mommy Shay and Mommy Jonah recommends this.
Daddy Marc uses this on his babies.

How I wish this variant is available here. But there was none at Mercury this morning.

I am going back to Mercury to try Calmoseptine because it is available in a sachet. Try muna. I hope that would work like magic overnight. If not, I would have to drag the husband to the airport coz I think I saw some Desitin at Duty Free (am just not sure what variant).

It's here

It's here ! Well, not really here !
But you can get Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
at NCCC Mall Supermarket
(the same store who was first to sell Gardenia bread in Davao City).

This is just after the grocery entrance.
What a pleasant sight.

But the doughnuts look so kawawa.
On display like in a palengke.

And so mahal ha at P56.00 each.

Still at NCCC Mall Supermarket at the Deli Section

The dougnuts here look happier =)

Accdg to their website
they have three factory stores and sixteen stores,
all in Luzon, where the doughnuts are
sold at approximately 40PHP a piece.

My favorites :
New York Cheesecake
and Original Glazed Doughnut

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DOUGHNUT ?

Surprise

I slept early Saturday night and woke up with
this shopping bag on top of our dresser.
Nawala ang antok ko. Is this a surprise for me ?

I decided not to peek inside dahil wala pang dedication ang card.
I didn't want to spoil the surprise.

Surprise !!! May Maldita Man Pala !

Happy Colonel

I am a fastfood junkie and fried chicken is my all-time favorite. Mix them together and you have my own personal food heaven, KFC.

My Personal Fave : Hot&Crispy Chicken Thighs

While I love my hot & crispy KFC fried chicken, there are two things that I dislike about my usual KFC experience. First, the lines are ridiculously long. I have to fall in line for approximately fifteen minutes before I could place my order. I've always said that I'd be willing to pay twice the cost of their fried chicken if I could order out of a menu with a waiter taking my order. Second, their cola is not my softdrink of choice ... until lastnight when I discovered ... Colonel Sanders has decided to Open Happiness. I am very happy too.

Lupang Hinirang

Singing the Philippine National Anthem always makes me cry.

It is such a moving song.

I took my history classes in gradeschool and highschool seriously so when I sing the words I actually imagine our heroes dying for our country. This cinematic video of GMA-7 won the
54th New York Festivals International TV & Film Awards with a Bronze award in the Music Video Cateregory. It sort of  captured what goes on in my mind when I sing our national anthem, minus Marian Rivera because I am not exactly a fan.

According to Wikipedia

"Lupang Hinirang is the national anthem of the Philippines. Its music was composed in 1898 by Julián Felipe, with lyrics in Spanish adapted from the poem Filipinas, written by José Palma in 1899 ... The Lupang Hinirang began as an instrumental march which Emilio Aguinaldo commissioned for use in the proclamation of Philippine independence from Spain. This task was given to Julián Felipe and was to replace a march which Aguinaldo did not find to be satisfactory. The title of the new march was Marcha Filipina Magdalo ("Magdalo Philippine March") and was later changed to Marcha Nacional Filipina ("Philippine National March") upon its adoption as the national anthem of the First Philippine Republic on June 11, 1898, a day before the date when Philippine independence was to be proclaimed. It was played by the San Francisco de Malabon marching band during the proclamation on June 12, 1898.In August 1899, José Palma wrote the poem Filipinas in Spanish. The poem was published for the first time in the newspaper La Independencia on September 3, 1899. It was subsequently adpoted as the lyrics to the anthem. "

"Lupang Hinirang"
Composed by Julian Felipe on June 12, 1898

kailan pa may di magdidilim.
Lupa ng araw, ng lualhati't pagsinta,
buhay ay langit sa piling mo.
Aming ligaya na pag may mang-aapi,
ang mamatay ng dahil sa iyo.
Philippine Hymn (English Version)
By Camilo Osias and A. L. Lang

Land of the morning
Child of the sun returning
With fervor burning
Thee do our souls adore.
Land dear and holy,
Cradle of noble
heroes,
Ne'er shall invaders
Trample thy sacred shores.
Ever within thy skies and through thy clouds
And o'er thy hills and seas;
Do we behold thy radiance, feel the throb
Of glorious liberty.
Thy banner dear to all hearts
Its sun and stars alight,
Oh, never shall its
shining fields
Be dimmed by tyrant's might.
Beautiful land of love, O land of light,
In thine embrace 'tis rapture to lie;
But it is glory ever, when thou art wronged
For us, thy sons to suffer and die

Doesn't that bring tears to your eyes ?

Karton

This post is to give credit to McDonalds Philippines for using karton in the packaging of their take-out food. This effort says a lot about McDonalds' corporate environmental consciousness.
